HOW TO JOIN COHORT3 OF #LAPTOPS4DEVELOPERS
DevCareer pioneered the #Laptops4Developers campaign in 2019 to rally support for underrepresented developers.
The campaign, since its launch, has provided laptops, mentorship, and a conducive learning environment equipped with internet and electricity during the duration of the Bootcamp.
Through the support and donations from prominent tech figures, philanthropists, and hub sponsorship, we reached 22 beneficiaries in the first year of the program but the number grew to 50 in 2020. The COVID19 restriction stalled the campaign in 2021 hence this year, we planned to reach 100 persons.
Here are a few things to know while completing your application for Cohort 3.
1) How do I register?
You will register by completing a simple form available on DevCareer community on Slack. The form will ask you a number of questions enough for us to know you, from basic to field-specific questions (name, location, gender, tech tribe, etc)

3) What does the selection process look like?
Each applicant will be subjected to a 3-stage test comprising: an aptitude test, a coding test, and a physical interview. The performance in one will determine if an applicant will participate in the next.
4) When will the registration link go live?
The registration link will be available on 01/05/2022 and will be live for a couple of weeks. It will be shared across our social pages. Make sure to follow and turn post notification on to be the first to know.
5) How long does the Bootcamp last?
The Bootcamp is for 3months.
6) What do I gain during the 3months program?
The 100 people who will be selected will have access to Laptops, Courses, and Hub subscriptions fitted with internet and electricity, and Mentorship.
7) Which tech fields are available to applicants?
Frontend Development, Backend Development, Mobile Application and Product design.
8) What’s the entirety of the stacks this third cohort will have
Reactjs for Frontend, Nodejs for Backend, Flutter for mobile and Finally Product Design using Figma.
9) What is the cost implication of the program?
The program is 100% non-profit making and doesn’t have a commercial advantage. It is sponsored by the generosity of philanthropists, donors, and patrons. Hence it is FREE.

Our test is focused on beginners and we also expect you to have started learning on your own before applying
11) Where is DevCareer located?
Devcareer is currently in 5 countries: Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya (Mombasa), Zambia (Lusaka) and Rwanda. In Nigeria, we are present in Lagos, Port Harcourt, Abuja, Ibadan, and Ogun. We would add more locations depending on the reception of the #Laptops4Developers campaign in that state.
