Danlitiny is volunteering as our graphic designer in the community, and his creativity has brought a new dimension to our community initiatives, making them more appealing and accessible to everyone. His designs have helped us reach a broader audience and engage more people in our activities, fostering a stronger sense of connection and belonging. His contributions have been nothing short of extraordinary, and we’re incredibly grateful for his work as a volunteer in the community.

We had the pleasure of chatting with Danlitiny and exploring his journey into tech, discovering what drives his dedication to continuous growth.

• Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background?

My name is Muhammed Danlitiny. I am a creative graphic and product designer who is always striving to be better, both individually and professionally.

• How did you first discover the community, and what made you stick around?

My six-month product designer education at DevCareer Tech Programme introduced me to the community. I stayed because of the kind and encouraging community there, even after the programme ended.

• What are you currently working on or passionate about outside of the community?

I am currently working as a freelance graphic and product designer.

• What are your biggest dreams for the future, and how does the community support you in pursuing them?

As a creative and product designer, my biggest dream is to create impactful, innovative designs that enhance daily life and inspire joy. I aim to develop seamless, functional products and mentor aspiring designers. The design community supports me through resources like workshops, webinars, and mentorship, keeping me updated on industry trends. Feedback from fellow designers refines my ideas, ensuring they are both creative and practical. This community inspires and motivates me to pursue my goals.

• What are some of your most significant achievements or milestones within and outside the community?

Within the community, some of my most significant achievements include:

• Completing my LMS in due time.
• Participating in discussions.
• Collaborating on a capstone project with other members of the community to build a web based product.

Outside the community, my key milestones include:

• Re-designing the capstone project.
• Successfully building and scaling my freelance brand, Danlitiny.
• Completed web design courses.
• Could you highlight a memorable moment or experience you’ve had in the community?

One memorable experience was collaborating on a design project. I learned with other people where we brainstormed, prototyped, and iterated on our ideas.

• In your opinion, how has the community positively impacted its members?

The community positively impacts its members by fostering collaboration and networking, offering skill development through workshops and mentorship, and providing valuable support and feedback. It inspires creativity and motivation and aids career advancement by offering opportunities, resources, and recognition.

• Is there a specific project or event you’ve been particularly proud of?

I am particularly proud of the capstone project I collaborated on: OMIO Africa, a web-based product that aims to solve hunger and reduce food waste.

• What advice would you give to someone who’s new to the community and wants to get involved?

Start by joining discussions, attending workshops, and seeking feedback on your work. Don’t hesitate to share your ideas and ask questions. Building connections and learning from others is key.

• If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?

If I could have any superpower, it would be the ability to instantly understand and learn any skill or knowledge. This would allow me to constantly innovate, solve complex problems efficiently, and help others by sharing insights and expertise across various fields.

• Is there anyone in the community you’d like to express gratitude or appreciation towards?

Massive gratitude to Boma, she was a great instructor. Then to the product design learning track, they were awesome.

• Who or what inspires you the most, both within and outside of the community?

Within the community, I’m most inspired by fellow designers who push the boundaries of creativity and innovation, consistently producing groundbreaking work. Outside the community, I’m deeply inspired by nature and its intricate designs, as well as visionary thinkers like Elon Musk, whose bold ideas and relentless drive to transform the world encourage me to think big and strive for excellence.

• Is there anything else you’d like to share with the community?

I’d like to remind everyone that the power of design lies not just in aesthetics but in its ability to solve real-world problems and improve lives. Stay curious, keep learning, and don’t be afraid to experiment. Collaboration and open-mindedness are key to our collective growth. Let’s continue to inspire and support each other in this journey of creativity and innovation.
