“Success occurs when opportunity meets preparation,” Zig Ziglar said.

I give glory to God for the opportunity given to me through DevCareer to be among great minds looking forward to becoming a world-class in their respective track. Also, I cannot but thank the one (@hacksultan) who Almighty God has given this burden to build developers in Nigeria and Africa at large. My words of appreciation would be incomplete without saying kudos to all that have donated to this non-profit organization both in cash and kind. We love and promise to make you proud.

The journey to learn, work and build with DevCareer started on the 14th of August, 2019. I was eager to get to Hub 67 to get started for real. Getting to the hub, it was paramount for us to set up our machines and we did that for some days as specified in the schedule. Afterwards, we learnt how to work with git and GitHub; forking, cloning to our local disk and pushing back what we edited to GitHub was a great thing to start with.

Amazingly, our access to pluralsight.com courses was given unto us in which we were advised to take the IQ tests to know our strength and weakness. Of a true fact, I did the IQs and the results thereof made me realize my machine learning skills is very weak but proficient in Python and Data Analytics literacy. True! I’m weak in machine learning and Visualization yet.

Sequel upon this, I started a course “Doing Data Science with Python” on Plurasights and also look forward to picking up Visualization with Python afterwards. I look forward to building models that will solve the problems of Road accident, traffic jam, kidnapping and the likes in Africa.

Shout out to our amazing facilitators:

@okoyecb , @olagoketobi, @hacksultan.
