Kudi.ai and the Rise of the Nigerian Machines

Core was surfing the great Interwebs last week and read about Kudi.ai. Core had heard about this service before but never used it because there are so many money transfer options in the Nigerian space.

If I had a $ for every one that popped up, I’ll be almost $1000 richer.

On this lonesome day, Core needed to quickly transfer money and added Kudi to Facebook messenger.

It was a WAWU

It was a speedy experience

It was easy to use

The transaction didn’t fail

The messenger bot saved the card

It also offered to save the recipient’s name

All of this within Facebook messenger?

Such another WAWU

Kudi.ai is the kind of bot people should build. It came with proper instructions, it was easy to navigate and use and most of all, it worked on the first try.

Core is still worried about these applications being called bots to users. The ‘bot’ tag could be scary for basic users and give off the idea of some technical skills are required to use them.

It’s important to remember that Google Now(and Assistant), Alexa and Siri are ‘bots’ but they’re never marketed as that to users. They were just called those names.

If you’re wondering if there are other Nigerian bots out there, yes there are. There’s EatDrink.bot for finding restaurants in Lagos by location and budget as well as Lara.ng for bus-by-bus directions for public transport commuters in Lagos. Lara was built by the guys at RoadPreppers and EatdrinkBot by EatDrinkLagos.

Big ups to the Kudi.ai team for this one. Core shall always use it.
