2019 ON A HIGH
Happy New Year DevC Nairobi!
It’s been a minute! It’s mid-February and we’re excited to have already started the year on a high, with a Book Launch and Game Night event!
Thank you to each and every one of you who made it!
If you didn’t, where were you? Anyway, this is a short recap of how the event was like.
A big congratulations to Anthony Nandaa for spending months on months to write a book and finally publish it! Beginning API Development with Node JS is the book we launched on the 8th of February. We came together to celebrate this huge milestone with a book launch, topped up with a night of fun and games! Anthony’s story is simply inspiring and it was also exciting to learn that some of you have been trying to publish books as well! Well in, we are doing well as a community!
The 8th of February was surely a fun and knowledge filled night! We had 70 of you attend the event and 15 ladies rocked up too! We love it when the ladies show up for our meetings, for sure!
We particularly loved that you had tonnes of questions for Anthony and he was well able to answer them, whether it was on publishing books, writing books, Building APIs with Node JS, to how profitable it is being an author! You made it all so enlightening with these questions.
It was also Game Night! Y’all play too much! 🤣🤣🤣 You just didn’t want to leave… It wasn’t a sleepover! 😅😅😅
If you missed it, you missed out on a lot! We had some group games with a game facilitator! I must say that that team had too much fun! There were board games too! Jenga, Monopoly, Chess, Scrabble, 30 seconds, Clue, Poker Cards, Exploding Kittens and so many others including Kahoot! Kahoot was really fun to play. We tested how well you know about Developer Circles Nairobi and I must say you all did well!
As promised, we will be giving out free copies of the book, and if you didn’t make it, please go ahead and support Anthony by purchasing his book from Amazon here.
Enough talking! Enjoy some of the pictures, and look out for more events throughout the year! See you soon!
