My journey Starts now

Where it all began, a Saturday afternoon somewhere in Lusaka, but this was no ordinary Saturday it was Facebook developer circles Community challenge build day (you can read a recap of it here and also join the official group here).

Listening attentively to the pitches

And as I sat and listened to the amazing ideas that were being pitched. Something caught my attention, as each developer talked about the tools they intended to use there was the python/Django, react/JavaScript php/Laravel and all the other jargon tech guys throw around when given a chance to talk, especially at a tech event.

In the midst of all the jargon I heard something that sparked some interest — Firebase. You should hear the way it was described or at least the way it sounded in my ears one would think using it one can develop an app that takes you to heaven.

Anyway, there and then I decided I should learn Firebase, wouldn’t want to be the only “Jew in Jerusalem” who doesn’t know what it is.

So, what is Firebase?

I also just found out, according to google:

a)Firebase is a platform with different services, that helps us develop applications quicker. Firebase is developed with mobile development in mind, but it’s absolutely not limited to mobile apps.

b)Firebase is Google’s mobile platform that helps you quickly develop high-quality apps and grow your business.

c) Firebase is your server, your API and your datastore, all written so generically that you can modify it to suit most needs.

d)Firebase is also a Realtime database.

By the time am done learning I promise you I will have a definition in my own words.I am sure the experts out there have theirs, but would you believe it’s been around for 2013,5 years and I didn’t know about its existence???

Thank God that has changed.
