A huge aspect of improving self-control is having a good level of self motivation. Self Motivation is the ability to go get something done without pressure from others or when something is due. To draw from within yourself to get that task/objective done. I was curious and looked into one of my classmates blogs to find some helpful information. In a blog by Marrissa Hallac, she wrote “Self- motivation is a popular theme in life, especially when it comes down to getting things done. It us up to us to push ourselves to accomplish our needs, in both everyday life and work.(Hallac 2017)” In other words, everyday we face obstacles that require some level of self-motivation for us to accomplish. Whether its cleaning our rooms, getting that last file into our bosses drop box, etc. we have to find a reason for us to get the task done. For some its easier to find one than for others.

Also in her publication, was a blog on making sub goals to keep you motivated to get things done. A part that stuck out to me was when she said “Setting goals as well as achieving them enhances your motivation skills. Ford presented a useful method towards successfully reaching your desired end result(Hallac 2017).” I found this information very helpful and put it to use over the last few days. I set sub goals for things i wanted to get done over the weekend like clean my apartment and catch up on school work and i really noticed it helped. I felt more satisfaction in accomplishment of small goals than just saying “all this work must be done by this time”.

Overall, her blog was very helpful to me and gave me some good tips that will help with me improving my self control.
