Celebrating 4 Years Of Developyn
The end of September 2020 marks Developyn’s 4th birthday, so we felt it was appropriate to spend some time to look back over our last year. With our team now larger in size, the days of our CEO being a 1-man band are over. Here is a quick rundown of how our year went.
Expansion Of Our Team
Our team has grown at the quickest rate so far since the company began. Since this time last year, we’ve increased from 4 to 13 full time staff and one part time team member. Including, 5 new consultants to work with IKEA and 4 new members to work on internal projects; effectively forming a new department.
Additionally, 3 new team members that make up the newly founded ‘Marketyn’ department.
We have benefited from a more structured, organised, and professional approach, seeing positive results already. We have appointed a HR manager for Developyn, Kearns (also the head of Marketyn), who handles most of the internal admin tasks and ensures the smooth sailing of the relative departments. This has made the lives of our senior staff much easier as they can now allocate their time to more pressing matters.
Increased Workflow
Financially, we have had our most successful year to date, experiencing an influx of new clients and accumulating more than a 300% increase in turnover compared to 2019. We have undertaken various projects since September last year, ranging from bespoke website development to marketing services such as SEO, with this year being our busiest in terms of workload. We are very lucky to have had continued success, and we can only wonder if things would have been any better had this year allowed it.We hope to continue this trend as we enter into 2021.
Refinement Of Skills & Processes
As we grow as a team and a business, so do our processes. Helped by increased communications between departments, we have been able to get the steps of how we operate as a company down to a science. This systematic breakdown of each process has allowed us to achieve consistent results whilst improving quality and speed, enabling us to be more efficient with each project.
A COVID Safe Business
Despite the obvious hardships of 2020, we were lucky enough to be in a sector that was able to quickly adapt to the world’s new norm of working from home. However, we didn’t take our fortune for granted and took steps to help fellow local businesses by waiving the setup cost of our webshop, enabling access to selling online to almost anyone.
