We are pleased to announce the launch of Markery version 2.0 and our new Reading App based on PWA (progressive web application) which is now available on IPFS! We have been working hard to bring this forward and we’re excited to see what you think of it.

Markery is a blockchain-based, decentralised application that allows users to verify the authenticity of items. We have made significant progress in developing Decentralised Markery 2.0, which is released on IPFS and uses Ethereum smart contracts to record verified information about products on the blockchain.

IPFS is a decentralised service allowing apps to be hosted in a decentralised manner, removing any reliance on third party services and applications. With Markery 2.0, we’re making this available through IPFS.

Application Runthrough

Devery is all about providing the best full-suite experience, so we’ve made it easy for users to read their brand and product information without relying on external platforms and without needing to sign up with a new service.

We’re also proud to announce our new PWA reading application, allowing users to read items without reliance on third party app stores. Our new PWA Reading app is a web app, meaning that it can be used without reliance on any app store.

This allows greater access removing the need for users to download an external APK and can be used in two ways:

1) Scan the QR code with your smartphone or tablet. Or

2) Fill in directly with just an address or QR directly from the PWA web app.

Item being read via the application

This release is a step towards a more decentralised application suite— it uses decentralised technology for a more secure process. We believe that with decentralised technology, there is no more dependency on Google services like Firebase and it enables users to be in control of their personal data. This allows users to have visibility on the entire process as it goes through the workflow and reduces the risk of data being lost or corrupted.

Devery plans to continue to work on Markery improvements in the near future. Decentralised Markery is currently only available for those interested via indications of interest from non restricted jurisdictions in testing out our app and providing feedback as we continue building out new features.

Next Steps

We’re looking at several developments within Markery to offer a powerful set of tools and services itself that can greatly improve user experience. It will be a huge benefit for our users, as we’ll no longer be required to rely on third parties to host our IPFS files and introduce new features to our users within the UI taking advantage of DeveryJS.

We expect the decentralisation of IPFS hosting to help reduce our reliance on third parties, which will make it easier for us to bring new features and improvements to the platform in the future and we’re working on further improvements so it can take advantage of the decentralisation and NFTs.

Stay tuned for further updates.

Thanks for following the project!
