Over the last month we’ve been hard at work ensuring that our milestones are achieved on time and occasionally ahead of schedule ensuring the protocol is robust but also driving real life usage.

Devery today is proud to announce the alpha release of its mobile reading app as well as updates on team members, advisors and our further toolset suite.

The first blockchain powered product verification application

Devery’s alpha mobile reading app is now publicly accessible for our community via the testing link. Note the rollout will commence once the application is indexed. It is the very first usable mobile verification application that reads directly off the blockchain.

We encourage developers and users who are experienced with testing alpha and beta apps on the Android environment to get back to us with issues if any. Note that we’ll be iterating on the application as this release marks only the alpha stage.

Functionality and proof of concept

The app is a fully functioning reading app — it can identify and read actual QR codes or Ethereum addresses. It then directly reads off the Ethereum blockchain to verify the hash and decrypt the information stored on the blockchain.

The Github page has a sample of two QR codes — one which is a has been marked on the blockchain and one which hasn’t. Scanning the QR codes allows the app to match the information off the blockchain and verify the code. These QR codes are also provided below:

Release on Google Play Store

The app can be installed via this link, note as it is an early build you will need to become a tester to use it. The app will be published under the name of “Devery” as the developer. Only the Github and the original app on the Play Store link provided by our team is genuine and Devery does not support any third party sites that may claim to host the apk.

This app will form the basis of future applications that will be customised to brands to utilise for their own brand-driven marking app. It may also be customised in the future for possible uses directly by consumers to mark their own products.

Introducing our latest advisor — Sebastian Quinn-Watson

We’re proud to announce that Sebastian Quinn-Watson from First Point Ventures has joined the team as an advisor. Sebastian has been an advisor to countless successful projects such as Simple Token, Bluzelle, and Power Ledger.

Sebastian and his First Point Ventures team have been actively and tirelessly expanding Devery’s business development opportunities across US and Asia. We are grateful to welcome Sebastian aboard.

New additions to the team & role changes

Devery has in the recent months been on the search for talented developers and team members to add value to the project to our existing projects as well as our further projects alongside our partners. We are proud to announce new members of our team whom will be working alongside myself and our current team as well as changes to our existing team.

Our newest team members include Vaibhav Namburi (Senior Software Developer), Victor Eloy (Senior Software Developer), Spencer Dezart-Smith (Software Developer) and Dan Drory (Software Developer). We’re focused on building a passionate, focused team whom believes in our product and protocol.

There are changes in the constituents of the key team members too. Antoine will be leaving the project to pursue his own endeavours. He will be shifting focus to work on another project with which he will spending most of his time.

DeveryJS & Devery Global Hackathon & next steps

Marking on the blockchain is slightly more complicated and will require developers to write directly to the protocol contracts. In the coming months, Devery will be releasing DeveryJS, a JS framework to abstract the complexity of building verification applications on the blockchain.

Adding to that we’ve also been listed on a decentralised exchange DDEX. Whi

Lastly, we will also be encouraging developers to utilize the protocol by launching a global hackathon to help engage and encourage development community, with dates and bounties to be confirmed in the coming months.

The team thanks you for your support of the project!
