6+1 Reasons to Buy a Company-Funded Ticket to DevFest CZ

Sometimes you go to a community-driven conference and wonder how all this is even possible. Sometimes you see a great effort behind every tiny piece of the event and wonder where the people’s drive comes from. Sometimes you wonder how many partners one conference needs. And sometimes you wonder if these crazy people need your help. Yes, we do. Let me show you the easiest way.

If you, as a company, ever thought about supporting a community and already decided to buy company-funded tickets, you know your intentions and we applaud you for that. If you haven’t, I give you five reasons to think about.

Because every community needs help from the bigger players and now we need yours!

Support communities (and the future)

DevFest is a community-driven event without any commercial intentions, a nonprofit conference with minimum funding. All of the organizers are doing their job for free in their spare time. You could say that DevFest is a passion-enthusiasm-craziness-nerdiness-driven piece of art.

But not only you are supporting the conference itself. You support the future — the community as a vital driver behind innovations and the course of the future. Without community, there would be no learning, no knowledge sharing, no validation of approach, no developer relations. No new skilled developers.

Happy employees

There are not many people who don’t like conferences. This could be one of your most popular benefits. When you drive innovations, you feel the hunger for knowledge and self-improvement. And what is a better way to keep your people up to date with sharp skills than to send them to a conference?

Workshops for “free”

Usually, when you send your employees to workshops to educate themselves, they are super pricey. If you send your employees to conferences to attend workshops at the event, it will not cost the company as much money as a regular training, since the cost of the workshop is also included in the ticket. This is the best way for your people to get their hands dirty without any additional costs.

When you care about diversity

Because of the company funded tickets we can (which means you can) support the students and underrepresented groups in tech. Thanks to that, we can offer them a lower price for the ticket and even a free entry for some of them. For example, this year we have a scholarship for 20 mothers in tech and this wouldn’t be possible without external help.

Networking

I’m sure you have your headhunters on every job fair, but this is a more natural approach for new talents. Developers tend to be more or less immune to headhunters or HR booths and endless requests for their CV. Go and talk to people on site and actually learn what they need and what they can offer. Community conference is a great place for this. And if you bring a game people will love you. We, geeks, love some good challenge!

Company visibility

Get your name out there. If you are a huge company, show the world that you are not a cold, old fart who doesn’t know how modern web development is made and your systems are not written by dinosaurs. Although you could be a big company with corporate processes, this is the way to show the community you are a valid player on the field. And if you are just a startup? Great way to let people know about your existence and business!

The bonus: Partnership

Not only you help the good cause, but we also have something to return. All the companies who buy company-funded tickets will have their logo on their badges to show the world their love!
