Speak you shall, young padawan
Autumn is usually the start of a “new year” in many different fields — it’s the new start for students, it’s the start of a new season for theatres or it’s the time when everybody in the fashion world goes crazy about Vogue’s September issue. But for us, proud nerds and IT geeks, here comes the DevFest season!
DevFests are community-driven conferences and you are the community. Who else should stand on the stage than people representing the community? Let me tell you why you, and especially you, should grab the chance and speak at our DevFest CZ 2018.
Why should I?
Do you have something to say to your fellow developers, but nowhere to find the opportunity? Do you have the desire to stand on the stage in front of like-minded people? Then you should consider speaking at DevFest CZ. Whether you love web technologies as much we do, or you are just the same crazy with Android development, we want to hear your story. PWA, IoT, Cloud, Dart, startup hacks, IT marketing, Angular, mobile apps and more and more… Sounds familiar? So many technologies to talk about! Maybe you have developed a successful mobile app or found a passion for unusual Kotlin libraries, these are the talks we would love to hear.
You might be an experienced speaker with guts made of steel, you might be a newbie with shaking knees, there’s a chance for everyone. As long as you have something meaningful/helpful/original to say, the doors are open for you.
Why DevFest CZ?
If DevFest CZ were a musical genre, it would sound like old-school punk rock. Let’s stay on the same tune and say just one thing — we do things like The Offspring do music — with classic punk and passion. Sometimes things don’t go the right way, but we stay on track and never lose our cool. Nerve-wracking is for losers. And we can prove that we are not those!
DevFest CZ is an event as unusual as it can possibly be. Every year, we have a different theme with different topics — from retro gaming, alien invasion to Middle Ages, everything is possible. And people love it — we welcome 600–800 attendees annually. Don’t tell me that speaking in front of hundreds of nerdy people doesn’t tempt you. This is the true adrenaline rush!
Let’s not forget the part with shared knowledge. Since we are a community gathered around Google technologies, we love everything around it — the web, mobile development, Android, IoT, marketing in IT, startup stories. Whatever you love, there’s a huge possibility we share the same interest.
What’s in it for me?
If you are invited to DevFest CZ as a speaker, you will be — as our honored guest — invited to speakers’ dinner and we will treat you as a VIP. You will share the spotlight with other great speakers and we will make sure to drag your face across the internet to prove your mum all the time spent in front of the computer was worth it.
