We’re holding our first-ever (read: trainwreck version) fully-remote lifting competition, the DevLifts Open!

It’s simple — lift as much total weight as possible between:

1. Barbell Back Squat (rule: must hit parallel or lower)
2. Barbell Bench Press (rule: pause at bottom of rep — bar must come to complete stop)
3. Barbell Deadlift (rule: you must keep contact with the bar until the weight is back on the ground)

3 attempts at each weight you try.

Film yourself (preferably from the side, so we can clearly see your form for each exercise). Be sure to record and post your failed attempts, too — just label them as `failed`. Post your videos in the `#devlifts-open` channel in Slack.

We will use the Wilks score to determine the winner (https://wilkscalculator.com/). There’s no prize and this is pretty low-key, so keep the honor system with your lifts so everyone can have a good time. 🙂

You may use any gear you’d like other than wrist straps on deadlift.

1 entry = 1 day of attempts (you must attempt all three lifts on the same day). You can submit as many entries as you want through October 20, but there must be at least 3 days between submissions.

Winners will be announced at the end of the day (~8pm Central Standard Time) on Saturday, October 20!
