Download a Linux distribution

For this example, I will be using Ubuntu Desktop LTS, but the installation steps are very similar to any

It is best first to start downloading the Linux distribution. For example, Ubuntu Desktop LTS is about 3.6 GB in size, and depending on your internet connection, this may take a while to download.

If you wish to install Ubuntu Desktop, head to the Ubuntu download page and click on Download.

Install VirtualBox

VirtualBox is a free virtualization solution. VirtualBox is available for many operating systems, including Windows and macOS. Go to the VirtualBox download page to find the installation package for your operating system.
