Hi, dex.blue community! Approximately one month ago we released our trading platform on Ethereum mainnet for our Early Access users and a lot has happened since. Hence, we are excited to show you some initial numbers, new features that have been introduced and some of the upcoming improvements.

For the ones that hear about us for the very first time: dex.blue is a real-time order book decentralized exchange based on Ethereum. Thanks to off-chain matching and on-chain settlement paired with sophisticated trading features (advanced order types, Websocket APIs with Client Libraries in Javascript and Python, Delegated Signing Keys and more), we aim to combine the security of a DEX with the usability and performance of a centralized exchange.

dex.blue in Numbers

Metrics

The goal for the first month was to gather as much actionable feedback from our early users and aggressively implement updates while ensuring that the platform would run seamlessly.

During our first 30 days of being fully operational, we facilitated 611 trades and 713 ETH in trading volume. A significant portion of this comes from our partner market maker that is helping us kickstart dex.blue initial liquidity and offer competitive prices for listed assets.

As we improve the platform further and implement user feedback we are looking forward to having more and more traders on dex.blue.

Top Trading Pairs (Volume)

  • MKR/ETH: 330.23 ETH (46.3%)
  • LINK/ETH: 113.52 ETH (15.9%)
  • ETH/DAI: 70.47 ETH (9.8%)

Introduced Features

Our new order form gives you better control and usability on the trading interface:

  • Place Stop-Limit, Fiat-Pegged, and Hidden Orders.
  • Use the fully responsive slide bar to adjust your order size.
  • See both the input and output amounts of your order.
  • Set expiries for your orders & more.

Automated traders can leverage our recently implemented Client Libraries in Python and NodeJS to deploy trading algorithms without any effort. Paired with our WebSocket APIs, you will enjoy a trading experience on-par with centralized exchanges.

We optimized the loading times for our trading interface. This should cut down your average loading time by approximately 50–70%!

What will we improve next?

In the coming weeks, we are expecting to improve the integration of our Kyber reserve to guarantee an even safer settlement of all trades that interact with the Kyber pool. Furthermore, we are looking forward to onboarding more market makers onto our platform.

Our focus is providing deep liquidity for the reputable large-cap Ethereum tokens, rather than listing every recently issued ERC-20 token. So, we are always interested in understanding which tokens you are currently trading. In case there is a specific token that you would want to see within our offered markets, feel free to submit it via this form.

Special thanks to everyone who gave insightful suggestions and jumped feedback on calls with us ❤️
