The next step in Dexlab’s plan to bring financial freedom to anyone.

Our mission in 2 minutes.

Introduction

In this blog post, I’m going to explain Dexlab’s next step in offering decentralized financial services.

Two years ago, at the beginning of Dexlab, I wrote the following statement:

At Dexlab we believe that decentralized fintech services should be accessible to everyone and offer great user experience.

The word DeFi wasn’t there just yet however we had strong confidence in the thesis suggesting the industry was moving towards that direction.

I further developed the plan in the Dexwallet paper as 5 simple steps, we call it: The Master Plan.

Build a usable entry point for DeFi.
Build pro tools for financial DeFi strategies.
Use that money to build even more simplified DeFi strategies.
Doing above, while also giving financial independence to your users.
Tell everyone.
- Alessio Delmonti, Founder of Dexwallet.

Today we feel confident it’s the right time to move forward in that plan. Bear with me while I elaborate on What we’ve done so far, What we are going to do and How it will happen.

What we’ve done so far

Twenty-four months ago it was clear that we needed to speed up the process of building accessible mobile-first user experience if we wanted decentralized financial services to have a real shot. Therefore we focused on that first, advocating for mobile native dapps with consistent UX vs Web3 browsers, you can find the motivations here.

Our positioning has been to be ahead of the curve, ship fast and consider our users as the most powerful asset we had, as well as, making them part of our crypto-family.

In doing so, since our first announcement on Oct 10, 2018, I believe we did a good job of crossing a few lines.

“Real quick, whole squad on that real sh*t
0 to 100, n***a, real quick
— Drake, “0 to 100/The Catch Up”

For instance, by supporting nascent networks designed for simplicity and speed and deliver a native bridge to allow people to get started in 2 taps.

Dexwallet was the first wallet ever supporting xDAI Network.

Working together with other teams to provide a mobile-native experience to early versions of DeFi protocols. Starting from Compound v1, and many more including Kyber Network, Fulcrum, Uniswap, Dydx, NFTs, etcetera.

The hard work has paid off by Dexwallet making a name for himself between DeFi-aficionados and early adopters. Being featured in many crypto hubs including The Block, Etherscan and more.

As well as having millions of dollars worth in assets under management.

Note: the watch mode was not there yet, actual AUM.

Some committed community members like @JordyMorris have produced their own content about it such as:

Swap Tokens Using DexWallet and Kyber.
Liquidity Provider Guide with DexWallet and UniSwap.
Generate Passive income with DexWallet.

@kyoronut has even translated the entire app in Japanese.
@davecraige took the challenge, and did an excellent job, in building our Discord community.

As I say often, seeing the community coming together to build with us warms my heart every single day and I feel blessed to have worked closely with the vast majority of our community members.

Today, more projects like Alice, Zerion, Rainbow are building in the direction of native integration and we feel confident the UX game is going to the right path and therefore we can move forward in our plan.

What now?

If you met me you know I’ve been a sucker for leveraging opportunities in crypto and DeFi via trading bots, arbitraging interest rates and generally automating wealth creation strategies.

However, what perhaps was not perceived by the official channels is that we researched and prototyped under the radar for the last 12 months to democratize access to the best-in-class wealth creation strategies.

A process that started long ago by building the FVM, which just in the last weeks managed over $40,000 in the Fulcrum SAI →DAI migration tool, and it’s about to the same for Idle Finance soon.

For the sake of brevity, I will elaborate more, during the coming weeks, with specific posts on why we believe this is needed and how we are going to achieve it. What I will say although is that major components include a DAO, Stacking Mechanism, Synthetic assets, and Liquidity Pools.

How is it going to happen?

Starting this week we are going to open-source previous projects such has Defitracker, DessertDai, and ultimately Dexwallet.

We will offer resources in terms of project management and design guidance, as well as bounties to keep developing further features like, for instance, the new user interface of DDai. We will keep covering the costs for servers, app store accounts, and infrastructure until further notice.

Dexwallet will eventually migrate to the new soon-to-be-announced DeFi project and the current wallet will be distributed as Dexwallet Classic.

Any community member interested in joining the operations, claiming bounties and further develop these projects is invited to get in touch with us personally in our Discord or DM me on Twitter.

Conclusions

Exciting times are ahead. Working on Dexwallet gave me the chance to see first-hand the wonder of decentralized finance flourish day after day, month after month. I cherish every moment of it, every person I met, every conversation in our Discord and every in-real-life meeting in this phenomenal community.

I strongly believe what we are cooking now will be by many orders of magnitude more impactful than everything else we ever did.

As always, I invite you all to be an active part in building this vision, specifically, I ask you to come to talk with us about:

○ Your financial goals
○ Your risk profile in investing
○ Your investment thesis, if any

A special thank you goes to my team, for subscribing to this vision and never flinch during the path. My only jobs have been to hold the vision, recruit and retain the best people, and make sure they have everything they need to execute.

Props go to Nicola Di Marco, Gabriele Cavargna, Nicola Lampis, and my personal wizard Mick de Graaf.

If you don’t already, I strongly invite you to follow and interact with them.
