DFINITY Launches the 2019 Scholarship Program

Over the past year, the DFINITY team has had the pleasure to work with students and universities to support academic research which significantly progresses the DFINITY technology. It is a core belief at DFINITY that we continue to develop and expand on our research foundation by supporting students and universities progressing the study of disciplines including distributed computing, cryptography, and decentralized systems, among others.

In the first iteration of the DFINITY Scholarship Program, we were pleased to see a diverse set of proposals be submitted by researchers from around the world. All applications were ultimately evaluated based on their applicability to DFINITY’s technology. In the end, we awarded three individuals and one team of undergraduates the 2018 DFINITY Scholarship, you can read more about the diverse set of proposals here.

DFINITY is wholly committed to supporting students who are pushing the blockchain industry forward through their academic research efforts. Last year, we even extended an internship offer to one of our scholarship winners. This year, we look forward to reviewing scholarship submissions and speaking with university students about their research on secure distributed systems.
