DFJ is thrilled to announce that Johnna Lesch has joined our team as our new Chief Financial Officer. Johnna will be taking over from Mark Greenstein, who will be retiring next year after having led DFJ’s finance and administrative functions since 1999.
Mark joined DFJ when we were still a relatively small firm and helped build a strong finance team and organization. Working closely with both our Venture and Growth teams to ensure excellence in all of our financial practices, he has contributed significantly to DFJ’s reputation and results. Mark has graciously agreed to stay with us for several quarters as CFO Emeritus to help effect a smooth transition.
Venture capital firms are complex businesses and finding someone with the unique set of skills required to manage that complexity can be a challenge. In our process, we spoke with many exceptional candidates, and Johnna quickly popped to the top of our list as the ideal fit for our firm due to her impressive experience, deep financial expertise, strong work ethic, and her commitment to our shared values of integrity and teamwork.
Johnna spent the last eight years at Lightspeed Venture Partners, most recently as the vice president of finance, where she was responsible for the firm’s financial management, operations, and reporting. Before joining Lightspeed, she was a senior accountant at MacFarlane Partners, a real estate investment management firm, and a financial analyst at Apple where she was a key member of the online store finance team during one of its most rapid periods of growth. Johnna began her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers as an associate in the firm’s technology sector. She graduated from Santa Clara University with a BS in accounting and is a CPA (inactive).
We thank Mark for his exceptional service and unwavering commitment for these past 20 years, and for his continued support of our firm going forward. We are excited to have Johnna on board, and we look forward to having her lead our exceptional finance team in the years to come.
