(The program has not been publicly rolled out yet. Only DGM-2271 students and other testers will be able to use it until the official rollout. Because some things might have changed, please leave an anonymous comment if you find anything.)

Utah Valley University has an Enterprise Box.com account and offers students 1TB of storage included with tuition.

1 Sign up at uvu.edu. You will also receive an invitation email, but your @my.uvu.edu email address should get you in. If it doesn’t you may have to wait for the invitation.

While you must use your @my.uvu.edu email address to join, it is smart and convenient to add another email address, preferably the same email adddress you will use with other cloud services like Slack and Medium.

2 Upload a photo avatar. This makes our UVU Box community a much friendlier place.

3 Download and install Box Sync. https://www.box.com/resources/downloads

If you already have a Box account, you will need to re-install Box Sync because not doing so has been shown to create problems.

You may download other box apps as needed here: https://uvu.app.box.com/apps

4 Familiarize yourself with UVU’s unique Box.com Folder structure. At present, we have 2 folders that you will need to use for creating your shared folders: “Internal Share” and “External Share”. Currently (as of Spring 2017) you cannot create folders at the root level, so you will need to create them in “Internal Share”. Be aware that folders shared with you from someone else’s “Internal Share” will show up at your root level, so you will just need to remember where they are.

5 Read more Box tutorials from your fellow students: on the DGM Knowledgbase. (click and then search for “Box”.)
