Community AMA, June 2022

Here is a recap of the eighth Community AMA, a monthly session where the DIA Team will answer DIA’s community questions and suggestions on the DIA Telegram Community Chat.

DIA is hosting a monthly Telegram AMA session with the core team. The aim of this monthly event is to improve direct communication between DIA and its community, by collecting community concerns and suggestions and having the DIA core team answer them.

Here is a recap of the eighth Community AMA:

In this seventh Community AMA, we had with us members Paul Claudius and Anze Noc. Please, welcome to this new session!

Anze is the new Community Architect at DIA and his mission will be to lead the strategy to continue growing a strong community at DIA to enable the DIA DAO’s expansion.

Hi Anze, welcome to DIA! We are very excited to have you at DIA as a Community Architect. Why don’t you introduce yourself and tell us a bit about you and your past experience

Sure, thanks for having me Emre. I am a 30 year old Slovenian with passion for traveling, sports and of course, crypto :) 2017 was the year when crypto sparkled my interest and I have been actively involved ever since.

I have over 8 years experience working as a marketing, community and operations manager at various tech and crypto related startups. My past roles mostly required me to manage different moving parts of the company and generally work on different growth and engagement strategies for our communities.

I am really excited to apply the knowledge I collected to the DIA DAO community.

Anyone that wants to learn more about me can check out my Linkedin profile: https://www.linkedin.com/in/an%C5%BEe-no%C4%8D-b1368a7b/

That sounds very exciting! We are looking forward to start building together and learn from your experience. What brought you to DIA and what are you most excited about?

Thanks Emre, I am excited as well :) Decentralized communities have sparked my interest a few years ago and I am convinced that we are still in the very inception of the decentralized space.

DAO as a “new” type of work organization and a cornerstone of this “decentralized revolution” has always been a fascinating concept for me. Getting a chance to join the DIA DAO and help with the development, growth and co-creation of this DAO was exactly the kind of challenge I was hoping to find.

The DIA core team has been doing an amazing job on all fronts and I am very honored to be able to learn from them and contribute to the common goal.

And we are honored to have you! What kind of projects will you be focused on in the coming months?

I am very thrilled to be here as well :) As my role as “Community Architect” might suggest, I will be focusing on a few community aspects of the DIA community. The priority will surely be the development of our Work DAO, ensuring a smooth and transparent workflow for all of our contributors. At the same time, leading the further implementation of our verticals into this new work structure and applying high-level goals and strategy to the development of DIA DAO on the path towards full decentralization.

Working hand in hand with the community, my focus will also be to identify, plan and execute new growth and engagement tactics to help DIA reach even higher levels of recognition and reputation within the crypto industry.

In my opinion, identifying top talent within our community and providing a simple platform for their contributions towards our goals will itself result in much faster and powerful development of our whole ecosystem.

This is some very exciting news! I can’t wait to hear more about this! From your point of view, what are your biggest priorities and challenges to work on?

Work DAO, while still in Closed Alpha stage, has already shown the amazing potential of a small highly-motivated group of individuals. The main challenge in the Work DAO will be the smooth scaling of the operation once we open access to the whole community, ensuring all contributors receive proper guidance and tools to enable them to contribute in a high quality fashion.

Throughout the development of our DAO, one of priorities will also be educating about the importance of oracles in the crypto industry and to spread awareness of DIA and its positioning within the market. The decentralized, transparent and customizable approach towards providing reliable data, should be the top priority not only for oracles but also for projects using their services. In my opinion, DIA is the best oracle solution in the market, and our mission is to spread this belief beyond our community.

I am happy to be a part of such a professional team and an amazing community. My DMs are always open, so feel free to reach out for any questions, suggestions or complaints at any time. Looking forward to closely working with all of you!

Scaling the new DIA DAO operation will be a tough but very interesting challenge. It will bring tremendous value to DIA. At the same time, the DAO community can contribute to the meaningful mission of building a critical layer of Web3 infrastructure while getting rewarded along the way. Very exciting times ahead, definitely.

Thank you for your time, Anze. You may have a seat now, as we are going to continue with the monthly community questions that some of you submitted:

1. Will we see DIA integrate with other web 3.0 projects — icp, ckb?

We are continuously focused on integrating our open-source oracle infrastructure with new relevant ecosystems and networks. We keep on deploying with relevant L1/L2 and support dApps on these networks. By supporting early-stage ecosystems and dApps we believe we will ensure to be integrated in the most relevant dApps in the next growth wave. Our multi-chain strategy is helping us to be the go-to oracle of choice.

To answer your question, we are already integrated with the Nervos network. You can always stay up to date with our latest multi-chain integrations via our Medium blog: https://medium.com/dia-insights/multi-chain/home

2. I am Korean. Coinbase is also listed, but don’t you plan on doing some aggressive marketing for Korea? And the marketing of the coin seems to be insufficient. Also, the web3.0-based DeFi program continues to decline, but I am curious about the development direction of the team.

The core team is currently focused on global operations in English rather than launching regional operations in local areas. At the same time, through the new DIA DAO, we are going to focus in the coming weeks on localising marketing and community efforts in many different languages. By leveraging the local community contributors, the DIA DAO will be able to scale marketing operations and launch campaigns for specific countries and regions.

If you are interested in contributing, join the DIA DAO early and secure a leadership position! Join the waiting list here:

3. Hi DIA team, will this project establish its own blockchain?

DIA’s core vision is to build the Wikipedia of financial data. And to reach that goal, the main requirement is to build a strong, resilient open-source data platform. High quality, transparency, accessibility, security and crowd-sourcing are key elements as we build the data layer of web3.

We are ready to take whatever action is necessary to provide these essentials, but one of these requirements does not seem to be a blockchain mainnet. The DIA platform is inherently deployable to any L1/L2 and can interact with any dApp in those networks.

4. Ethereum 2.0 will eliminate the Proof-of-Work consensus model in favor of the Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus model. How will that affect DIA?

DIA oracles do on-chain calls to update its underlying price feed. DIA delivers data to dApps via smart contracts, which can be deployed on one of the 25+ most relevant layer1 and layer2 blockchain networks, such as Ethereum. The way these smart contracts supply price data to dApps is by pushing on-chain an update of a data stream coming from the DIA Platform. The update frequency (i.e 30, 60, 120 seconds or deviation based) is predefined and customised for every user. Like any other on-chain transaction, these oracle on-chain transactions require a gas fee to execute. DIA oracles users are required to fund their oracle in order to keep their oracle running and feeding their dApp.

Assuming that the new ETH PoS consensus mechanism will be more efficient and gas transaction costs will be reduced, this could lead to lower costs for DIA oracles users on Ethereum.

5. At what time do we see $1 for DIA?

We provide oracles on past and current asset prices, not future ones ;-). On a more serious note- the price of the DIA token is a factor of supply and demand and all we do is to create value for stakeholders, as described in previous Community AMAs.

6. How about DIA DAO’s work framework? Has the alpha version been launched?

The launch of our Closed Alpha has been very successful so far.. We’ve completed over 100 missions/tasks with over +30 contributors during the closed alpha. Getting to know the processes and contributor perspective helped us achieve our goal of perfecting the alpha version. Some additional improvements are still needed before we can move to the next phase.

Here are some developments since the start of the closed alpha: — We worked closely with over 30+ closed alpha contributors and gathered all the feedback — Over 100 onboarding and guild tasks completed — Design, Growth, Copywriting, BizDev and DAO Operations guilds have been activated and tasks and onboarding applications have been activated according to the guild’s needs. — We have added the support ticket system in order to enable our contributors to address the queries in a more efficient manner, while also keeping the greater level of privacy while discussing the details of the issue. — Efforts to make the onboarding and contributing process as seamless as possible are ongoing These are just some that come to mind, happy to share more progress in the near future.

7. Will it be possible to see more tasks in the DIA DAO?

The main purpose of the DIA DAO is to create a formal framework to enable the DIA community to support the growth and development of the DIA and earn rewards while doing so.

The start of this ‘Work DAO’ is an important milestone on the road to a fully matured DAO. We believe that Web3 will be built with contributions rather than investments. Thus, over time, every task of the DIA platform’s requirements such as marketing, growth, BizDev, product and technology will be available for community input in the DAO.

More tasks will be added and will pave the way for more contributions from our contributors. Important to note here, anyone within the DAO will also be able to make new bounty ideas and suggestions, thats what it is all about — all of us working together and bringing ideas together!

8. What do I need to do to take an active role in the DIA DAO?

DIA DAO presents many tasks based on your interests and areas of expertise. First, you can start by completing the onboarding tasks. Then, according to the XP you earn, the guilds and the guilds’ missions will be available to you. This means the more XP you have, more tasks will be accessible to you.

In the coming days, ambassador and leadership tasks will also be activated and we will be able to see the community at the forefront of all community operations. However, each guild will have sustainable tasks and goals.

As we are getting closer to take our DAO to the next level and open up applications for the wider community, we will make sure to share all the important information for you to be able to join and become an active contributor to the community.
