DIA is hosting a monthly Telegram AMA session with the core team. The aim of this monthly event is to improve direct communication between DIA and its community, by collecting community concerns and suggestions and having the DIA core team answer them.

Here is a recap of the 12th Community AMA:

In this 12th Community AMA, we had with us members Michael Weber and Samuel Brack. Please, welcome to this new session!

1.Cardano will be available?

Currently, we are prioritising chains that hold the biggest total value locked in smart contracts, have more protocols operating and therefore, are in better need of oracle services. Besides those ecosystems, we prioritise the deployment of DIA’s oracle infrastructure by user demand.

So far, Cardano did not meet any of those requirements yet and therefore we are prioritising other ecosystems meanwhile. But we are always keeping an eye on the market as a whole. As soon as the demand for oracle grows in Cardano, we will make sure to make our data and oracle platform available for developers in Cardano.

2.Why did DIA rebrand?

DIA launched with a beautiful brand in 2018. Ever since we have come a long way along all aspects of the project from technology to product to the community. We felt that the current brand and presence no longer represented the progress we have made.

The DIA platform has grown in depth and complexity and now provides price oracles for 2k+ digital assets, 18k+ NFT collections. It is integrated and sources granular data from 65+ on-chain and off-chain exchanges. And it is available to deliver transparent oracles in 35+ blockchain networks.

Therefore, this past month we introduced a new brand that reflects these values more accurately and will give DIA a fresh new look and feel to build around. The brand revamp was followed by the launch of a new website that will serve not only as a more accurate representation of DIA’s current state but also have a deeper look into the platform and its products and data availability.

Additionally, the DIA ecosystem has grown considerably and has onboarded hundreds of users, partners, and collaborators.

You can explore them all in the following web page: https://www.diadata.org/ecosystem/

3.What events did DIA attend in September? Will DIA attend more events in Q4?

September was quite rich, especially in the context of IRL events. We participated in many events that were very beneficial especially for brand exposure but also for Business Development. Our participation continued during the Berlin Blockchain Week:

- DIA Co-Founder Paul Claudius spoke on a panel around “Data Availability in Web3” alongside speakers from Subsquid and IOTA

-DIA Co-Founder Paul Claudius took part in the panel “Shaping The Next Economic Era With Web3 Technology” with Agbona Igwemoh, CMO/COO of Kylin Network and Hoonsubin, CTO of AstarNetwork

- DIA Co-Founder and CTO, Samuel Brack took part in an interesting discussion around the past, present and future of Web3’s most renowned engine: EVM. With speakers from Evmos, Ethereum Foundation, Polygon and Centrifuge.

- DIA Co-founder Paul Claudius spoke roundtable discussion about building in the Metis Ecosystem with

Hummus Exchange, Qi Dao Protocol and Metis DAO

Our event calendar for Q4 is already set and you will find us in Europe at Solana Breakpoint as well as in a few interesting events in the US. We currently researching interesting events worldwide to assist and take part in.

When it comes to participation in a new event, we will share the details on our Twitter account.: https://twitter.com/DIAdata_org

4.The new DIA app looks great, an explorer like that was much needed. What is the plan for the moving ahead?

Thanks for the kind words! The new DIA App will be an environment to showcase the DIA platform’s data library and tools. Currently, users can explore DIA’s 20k+ price feeds for tokens and NFT collections, as well as the 65+ data sources. Additionally, it provides useful tools for developers such as demo oracles in multiple chains, system monitoring tools and the custom data feed builder dubbed xStream.

The DIA App will be a dynamic place that will keep evolving as we build the platform and add more features and products. Expect new features, improvements and development in the coming weeks and the App will be receiving new updates to reflect the growth of DIA’s product offering.

You can access the DIA App here: https://app.diadata.org/

5.DIA is one of the top oracle projects according to Defillama. But is hard to compete with a big player like Chainlink. How are you planning to continue gaining more market share?

Each oracle provider brings a different value proposition to the ecosystem and they all are necessary to cover the different needs of the protocols and ecosystems.

With our open-source architecture, we have built a great set of products that can be easily deployed in multiple networks, and cover the needs of an unserved market of protocols in the networks. This results in positioning DIA as the go-to oracle in many up-and-coming chains. We will continue to provide an essential building block to enable the development of these ecosystems.

Additionally, in the last weeks, we have been focused on building a completely new product that will power a new wave of dApps, built by renowned teams. This new product is a new state-of-the-art service that no other oracle can fulfil as of now, and we are very excited to shed more light on this in the coming days. Stay tuned!

6.What is DIA xStream? How does it work?

xStream is DIA’s self-service tool to customise and create any API endpoint, as well as to request those as a smart contract oracle, without the need to interact with developers. Users can specify exactly what they require including source markets, and methodology parameters like time range, window size, update triggers and frequency.

This is the first step that will serve as a basis to enable the autonomous creation of more complex, use-case-driven data feeds rather than only providing standard price feeds with standard methodologies.

7.How many integrations were achieved in 2022?

DIA as an oracle provider, key for the development of Web3, continuously focuses efforts on improving its product stack.

DIA is one of the few data providers in Web3 capable of creating price oracles for any asset on any network, thanks to its open-source architecture. Therefore, DIA continues updating its platform by integrating new data sources to keep expanding the breadth of support assets as well as the oracle resilience to attack vectors.

Through 2022 DIA integrated 35+ on-chain and off-chain data sources to the platform. Here is a list of the latest centralised and decentralised markets DIA integrated during the last 6 months, filtered by blockchain ecosystem: https://medium.com/dia-insights/source-integrations-q1-q2-2022-a4658482e065

Additionally, you can explore all data sources via the DIA App: https://app.diadata.org/data-sources

8.How many tasks have been completed and how much USD has been paid so far in DIA DAO? From the beginning, can you share the digest?

Many tasks are added and completed every day in DIA DAO. Growth is increasing visibly day by day and very happy with your interaction here.

9.What exactly was the WanSwap product update? What’s the implications for the DIA platform and DIA?

That’s a good one. Recently we announced the deployment of a new decentralised exchange scraper to the DIA Platform: Wanswap. What does this means? This means that DIA is now also ingesting trade data coming from Wanswap Decentralised Exchange, operating in Wanchain network. This is quite interesting product update for many different reasons:

More sources means more reliability and more resilient feeds!

But also, more sources also mean more asset supports to build oracles for dApps!

With Wanswap as a source for DIA, we can track each and every trade happening inside of the Wanswap DEX and therefore, by transparently computing that that information, be abe able to create price oracles for assets being traded in Wanswap.

As a result, this product development will foster the development in the Wanchain ecosystem, as dApps will be able to use DIA oracles to build new product with Wanchain native assets.

About DIA

DIA is a multi-chain, end-to-end, open-source data and oracle platform for Web3. The DIA platform enables the sourcing, validation and sharing of transparent and verified data feeds for traditional and digital financial applications. DIA’s institutional-grade data feeds cover digital asset prices, NFT floor prices, lending rates, FX rates and more.

DIA’s data is directly sourced from a broad array of on-chain and off-chain sources at individual trade-level. This allows DIA feeds to be fully customized with regards to the mix of sources and methodologies, resulting in tailor-made, high resilience feeds and thereby setting a new paradigm for oracles.
