Overview

Since our last community update in December, the DeFi market has continued its ceaseless development and growth. Despite a recent market dip, the continued interest from institutional investors and corporates pushed the DeFi market cap by almost 400%.

In this bullish market, DIA pushed integration and partnerships with dApps as well as L1 and L2s such as the Binance Smart Chain or Polygon, migrated the DIA platform to secure the infrastructure of IBM and reached an annual all-time high and much more.

Market and price development

Since the start of the year, the DeFi market has seen unprecedented growth, where its market cap constantly grew from $25b in January first to reach 95b USD in Feb 2021, before stepping back to 77b USD, when the whole crypto and DeFi markets saw a correction. (source)

Since the last update in December, the DIA Token has also steadily to reach 3.55 USD in mid-February — its 2021 all-time high. DIA quickly recovered from the crypto and DeFi market down and stabilized around 2.30USD at the end of February.

Security measures

At the beginning of the year, we announced DIA leveraging IBM’s Hyper Protect to bring Confidential Computing to Oracles. The IBM public cloud is the industry’s most secure and open public clouds for business. As one of the first corporate entrants into the blockchain and crypto-sphere, IBM has been at the forefront of developing solutions that bolster security for its users on all levels. One of the latest innovations to enter the DeFi market is IBM’s tamper-proof virtual hosting service, Hyper Protect.

More details in our announcement or in IBM’s Press Release.

Tokenomics update

DIA’s DAO proposal to burn 50% of the planned yearly treasury and release 4.575 M DIA tokens was successfully executed. You can learn more about the burn following the TX link.

DIA distributed the Airdrop to mitigate the adverse effects of the 2020 Kucoin exploit to wallets and CEXs.

The transparency report has been updated to reflect current tokenomics. View the details here.

Partnerships and integrations 🤝

Intensifying business development efforts, we have integrated DIA oracles into a wide range of dApps and will announce more exciting collabs in the near future. Here is who has joined the DIA ecosystem since the end of December:

  • Binance Smart Chain: Binance Smart Chain (BSC) is a blockchain by Binance that runs in parallel to the Binance Chain, which is the home of Binance’ BNB currency. BSC boasts smart contract functionality and compatibility with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM).
  • IBM Cloud Hyper Protect Services: As one of the first corporate entrants into the blockchain and crypto-sphere, IBM has been at the forefront of developing solutions that bolster security for its users on all levels. One of the latest innovations to enter the DeFi market is IBM’s tamper proof virtual hosting service, Hyper Protect.
  • Polygon: Polygon (FKA Mactic Network) sets out to solve the issues of slow block confirmations and high gas fees and the lack of smooth user experiences needed to enable mass-market adoption. As the current decentralised ecosystem lacks usability and convenience with slow, expensive and complex decentralised transactions, Matic leverages a combination of blockchain scaling, developer platform and tools, and a rabid focus on user experience to solve these issues.
  • PiSwap DeFi: PiSwap DeFi is a new generation full-stack DeFi aggregation platform which offers a wide range of services/applications, involving yield farming, governance (DAO), Dapps developing and NFT/Gaming.
  • Exeedme: Exeedme is a blockchain-powered tournament platform that acts as a competitive layer on top of centralised and decentralised games and allows gamers at all skill levels, developers and gaming communities to monetize their skills and efforts with the power of DeFi and NFT’s.
  • PaidNetwork: PAID Network seeks to redefine the current business contract, litigation, and settlement process by providing a simple, attorney-free, and cost-friendly DApp for users and businesses to ensure they #GetPAID.
  • Tixl.Finance: Tixl.finance is a next-generation cryptocurrency data platform, focused on providing investors and traders all the information they need to make decisions in one place.
