Community Update: October 2021

Here are DIA’s latest developments, including 5 new oracle deployments on networks like Arbitrum, the launch of the DIA DAO forum, regulatory engagement at EU level, and much more.

In the last two months, since the last community update in August, the DIA Association has pushed heavily on various fronts such as product, business development, regulatory interaction, and decentralisation.

The product sprints have been geared towards positioning DIA on the Polkadot/Substrate ecosystem, by deploying the DIA oracle on the Kusama parachains Moonriver and Shiden. Furthermore, DIA has continued expanding its cross-chain operability to exciting ecosystems like Arbitrum or Celo.

Regulatory sprints resulted on meetings with crypto legislators from the Blockchain Unit in the European Commission, as well as the first women-only crypto delegation in the official seat of the European Parliament in Strasbourg.

⚙️ Product / Tech

In the past weeks, the tech/development team has concentrated efforts on deploying the DIA oracle on various blockchains, with a clear focus on the Polkadot/Kusama ecosystem. This strategic move is set to position DIA as the go-to trusted oracle provider for the dApps launching on these innovative and efficient scaling networks. Here is a recap of the latest tech developments:

DIA is integrating with the xDai Chain, to offer its oracle infrastructure in the Ethereum compatible blockchain for fast and inexpensive transactions.

DIA’s trusted oracles are now live in the Shiden Network mainnet, feeding the platform with accurate and transparent market price data. This integration enables developers building dApps in the Kusama Ecosystem to access crowd-sourced and validated price feeds natively in the EVM compatible parachain.

DIA’s oracle infrastructure is live on the Moonriver Network. DIA’s crowd-sourced and -validated price feeds will fuel Moonbeam’s canary network. Currently, the oracle delivers data feeds for BTC, DIA, ETH and USDC prices and will be continually expanded. The integration will enable DApps to directly communicate with trusted data before deploying on Moonbeam, as well as enabling new parachain specific use cases.

We are excited to announce that DIA’s oracles are available on Arbitrum’s layer 2 scaling solution on Ethereum.

The DIA token is now available on Binance Smart Chain as a native BEP-20 token, enabling the DIA token holder community to benefit from broader accessibility and lower transaction costs.

We are delighted to announce that DIA has integrated its oracle infrastructure with Celo, the mobile-first layer1 blockchain for dApps and crypto payments.

With the launch of ARTs (utility-NFTs that act as keys to access the metadata of relevant NFT ecosystems) DIA is creating a data infrastructure for interoperability and portability in open metaverses. On September 7th, the DIA ART Genesis event took place, offering to the community on a first come first serve basis, early access to the DIA ARTs ecosystem. All Genesis ARTs were successfully minted within less than 24 hours.

DIA’s ART Genesis Drop was set up to give the community the opportunity to have early access to the DIA ARTs Ecosystem. In the next 6–12 months, the DIA ARTs data infrastructure will begin to operationalise, and dApps of the DIA ecosystem will start to leverage dARTs as a key to access DIA’s data and oracles. Once the process starts, the opening of dART pools will follow, enabling dARTs holders to have access to the claims of the dART pools.

We are delighted to announce that DIA will be delivering US Stock Market price data on-chain, taking another step to bridge the gap between decentralised and centralised financial markets. DIA will add over 20.000 equity price points from exchanges such as NYSE, NASDAQ, AMEX, ARCA, and BATS to its oracle suite.

Looking ahead, the dev team will continue building momentum and announcing new oracle deployment and integrations on exciting new networks. We are firm believers that the future of DeFi is cross-chain and DIA is building a robust chain-agnostic oracle infrastructure to enable access to trusted data in all these different blockchains and metaverses.

🤝 Partnerships & Integrations

Since August 2021, DIA has expanded its oracle service to support a range of dApps, protocols, DEXs and launchpads. Here is an overview of the latest additions to the DIA ecosystem:

  1. Argo: ArGo is a server-less app platform that enables the automated deployment of web projects on blockchain-based storage networks. Argo offers a decentralized, uncensored, and permanent platform for businesses and ideas on the internet which is permanently hosted with a one-time deployment fee. The ArGo platform is 100% auditable and verifiable as all the deployment is logged in the blockchain.
  2. Dotmoovs: Dotmoovs is a remote peer-to-peer sports competition platform that aims to revolutionise the way users look at sports performance. The platform hosts peer-to-peer sport challenges to monetise training time through cryptocurrencies and NFTs with open market dynamics. By uploading a video to the platform, the algorithm developed by Dotmoovs can detect the human body and its various limbs positions and measure the player’s skills. With the obtained data, the system will determine the winner, transfer the stake and update the ranking.
  3. Arcana Network: Arcana Network is a storage layer for Ethereum, with a privacy stack for user login/authentication, access control, key management, and encrypted storage. With Arcana, blockchain developers can build privacy-preserving dApps with easy-to-use interfaces. Arcana’s goal is to make decentralized storage and app development secure, seamless, and intuitive.
  4. Deficliq: Deficliq claims to be the first company to provide both collateralized and uncollateralized loans in both P2P and traditional ways. The Deficliq platform offers to users many features such as DAO governance, staking, yield farming, interoperability and more, all in one Polkadot Substrate Project.
  5. Ferrum Network: Ferrum Network is a deflationary cross-chain Blockchain as a Service DeFi company that specializes in adding token utility and advisory services to projects across the crypto space. Ferrum builds white-label blockchain solutions that empower startups and established organizations, enabling them to get their core products to market faster. At the same time, Ferrum Network, through its incubation arm, offers a cross-chain incubation process with a stress-free, 36 hour contribution period.
  6. Coinversation: Coinversation Protocol is a synthetic asset issuance protocol and decentralised contract trading exchange based on the Polkadot contract chain. It uses the Coinversation (CTO) and Polkadot (DOT) tokens as collateral, to synthesize any cryptocurrencies or stocks, bonds, gold and any other off-chain assets through smart contracts and oracles. Users can forge a certain synthetic asset by collateralizing CTO or DOT and automatically have a long position in the asset. Users can also convert minted assets into other assets through the trading platform.
  7. Standard: Standard Protocol is the first Collateralised Rebasable Stablecoin protocol for synthetic assets that will operate within the Polkadot ecosystem. It is also the first and only project from Korea to be awarded a Polkadot Web3 Foundation grant and prides itself on its global community growth approach.
  8. Dfyn: Dfyn Network is a multi-chain Automated Market Making (AMM) DEX, built to be an inter-connected AMM with nodes spread on different blockchains. These AMMs will be able to share liquidity across multiple Layer 1 and Layer 2 blockchains and enable cross-chain swaps by leveraging Router Protocol’s XCLP.
  9. Chaingain: Chaingain is a decentralized financial platform, offering a variety of products tailored to many individuals, ranging from lending and borrowing protocol to capital renting. Chaingain’s new platform bridges the gap between everyday financial needs and the DeFi paradigm, in order to create decentralized protocols to answer to a broad range of financial needs.
