Partnership with Orbital Apes
We are excited to announce that Orbital Apes has officially integrated DIA’s distributed and verifiable random number generation oracle on Evmos to support the launch of their decentralised raffle platform Rumble.
Rumble is the newest project from the creators of the Orbital Apes NFTs. The highly regarded Orbital Apes community, originally launched on the Evmos network, is expanding by building a decentralized raffle platform. The goal of the platform is to let users, influencers and platforms engage with their community in a fun way, eliminating problems usually present with random giveaways. As a bonus, all the profit generated from the platform is distributed to the Orbital Ape holders.
The Rumble platform supports the creation and running of decentralized raffles with NFTs, ERC-20 tokens and Evmos tokens. The creator can set the raffles price, requirements and rules, and the platform will do the rest. Users are able to mint ERC-721 tickets for each raffle, and the winners will automatically receive their prices. All of this is done in a transparent and open way, powered by the random number oracle DIA has deployed on the Evmos network.
Random numbers on the Evmos chain
We are thrilled to announce a new collaboration with Rumble by Orbital Apes to provide the platform with a distributed and verifiable random number generation oracle on the Evmos network. The public randomness oracle will be used to power applications on the Evmos network that are in need of random numbers, starting with the Rumble platform.
Rumble calls the oracle twice during a raffle; once when a raffle is completed and a random number that picks a winning ID from the tickets is needed, and a second time to get the number of rounds until the next raffle will begin. The Orbital Apes team has been the first to use the oracle on Evmos, and more apps are expected to use it in the near future.
How Does the Oracle Work?
To get trustworthy and decentralized randomness on-chain, DIA leverages Drand’s randomness beacon. Drand uses a network of beacons that produce verifiable, unpredictable and unbiased random numbers as a service. These beacons produce randomness and update the network in discrete rounds. DIA uses these randomness beacons to update its oracle with a round number, randomness and signature every 30 seconds. All of this information is stored and generated on-chain, meaning the oracle is completely transparent which makes Rumble truly decentralized.

The Orbital Apes team comments:
“We’re super excited to be working with DIA to bring on-chain randomness infrastructure to EVMOS. Their team has been very supportive in helping us launch Rumble. We already have plans to further make use of this technology on Rumble by creating new opportunities and games for our users and look forward to other teams on Evmos taking advantage of building applications utilizing DIA Oracles.”
A DAO-driven proposal
The Orbital Apes team submitted a community proposal to the Evmos ecosystem to fund the gas fees of the RNG oracle for an entire year. The proposal was successfully passed with 91% positive votes.
[Passed] Fund DIA Randomness Oracle Gas Fees for 1 Year
Hi All, 0xCtrlAltApe here from the Orbital Apes team. I am starting this discussion to help launch DIA Randomness…
This was done as a community effort to enable more applications in the Evmos ecosystem to access random numbers to build new dApps. The Evmos community has chosen the DIA’s Multi-Randomness oracle because of the contracts’ superior gas usage and transparent delivery of randomness. The implementation of the DIA randomness oracle on Evmos means that any project building on the network and in need of random numbers is now able to call the oracle to receive random values.
Michael Weber, DIA Association President comments:
“We are excited to see that the DIA oracles are being used as a community tool in the Evmos ecosystem. This truly shows the strength and benefits of having an open and decentralized ecosystem, and Orbital Apes is definitely doing the right thing here. Seeing them create value not only for themselves but for the whole Evmos ecosystem is what we like to see in web3. We enjoyed working together with the Orbital team, and we certainly look forward to working with them again.”
DIA is a multi-chain, end-to-end, open-source data and oracle platform for Web3. The DIA platform enables the sourcing, validation and sharing of transparent and verified data feeds for traditional and digital financial applications. DIA’s institutional-grade data feeds cover digital asset prices, NFT floor prices, lending rates, FX rates and more.
DIA’s data is directly sourced from a broad array of on-chain and off-chain sources at individual trade-level. This allows DIA feeds to be fully customized with regards to the mix of sources and methodologies, resulting in tailor-made, high resilience feeds and thereby setting a new paradigm for oracles.
