Dialectica is one of the fastest-growing information services startups in the global market, revolutionizing how business professionals share knowledge and gain access to primary research worldwide. Since our founding in 2015, our team has grown tremendously and we currently count more than 370 professionals in our locations in Athens, London, Montréal and New York. As we are looking to scale and further expand our footprint globally, we aim to employ over 1,000 people over the course of the next 4–5 years.

During this process, our goal is to attract, onboard, develop and retain top talent and cultivate a strong, positive culture that combines great colleagues and unlimited opportunities for growth and development. A Dialectican is someone who has the passion to succeed, the can-do attitude to become a true leader and the willingness to continuously learn and develop their soft and technical skills. In this context, the stages of our recruitment process, as described below, are designed upon getting to know our candidates, seeing whether they fit our company’s culture and of course, helping them to understand who we are, what we do and what the role is.

1. Submitting your application (easy peasy!)

Our job openings are always available on our website, Workable, and LinkedIn. For the many talented techies out there, we also have a special Careers in Tech page.

All applications are reviewed by our Talent Acquisition Team, which at this stage are looking to start getting to know you. That said, please make sure to include a cover letter so we can learn about your accomplishments, achievements, the impact you have made so far (whether at school and/or your previous or current position), and highlight the reasons you would like to join Dialectica.

Tip! Answer all questions provided on the application form and tell us all about your education, events you have organized, awards you have received or your volunteering experience. Mention anything that will highlight the superpowers you can bring to Dialectica.

2. Let’s Meet (and the exciting part begins!)

Ta-da, your application has successfully caught our eye! A member of our Talent Acquisition team will get in touch to plan a brief phone call or video interview (Depending on whether you applied for our Athens, Montréal, London or New York office) with some predefined questions.

During this 15 to 20-mins call, we will give you more information about Dialectica and the position you applied for. We would also like to get to know you a bit more, discuss your motivation, your career aspirations and your accomplishments so far to get a better understanding of why you want to join us. Towards the end of the call, you will also have a chance to ask any questions you have.

Tip! Be natural and don’t forget to mention all your success so far. Have a look at our website, blog and social media accounts on LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook, read more about the information services and expert network industries to have some questions and answers ready and get ready to nail this step.

3. First Interview (things are getting serious!)

You are already in step three! This will definitely be a video call, but this time you might be speaking with a different member of our Talent Acquisition team. In this stage we will ask you some competency and behavioural questions around your past experiences, career aspirations, and the role you are interviewing for. Your interviewer will also be ready to give you more information about the role and you will also have the chance to bombard them with questions about the company or the position. This round takes more or less an hour and depending on the position, we might as well give you some job-related problems to solve.

In some cases, depending on the role, prior to the first interview, we may ask you to complete a bias free online test to assess personality and behavioural traits. This acts as an input to our first interview and is used to guide the discussion.

Tip! The interviewer will be interested in your career, experience and in getting a better understanding of how you got here today, as well as your critical thinking and drive. We might also ask you questions to better understand your commercial awareness.

4. Business Case (your chance to shine!)

You are right on track! In this stage and depending on the role you applied for, you might also be meeting your Hiring Manager or another talented Manager from our team . This round is testing your skills via a take-home or live (in some cases) assignment, which might be a case study, a business or a marketing plan, a sales pitch presentation or a coding exercise tailored to the role and the real day-to-day of the position. The aim is to see your skills in action, how you approach certain aspects of the job (time and pressure management) and how receptive you are to feedback. The assignment is also very important for you to get a first glance of part of your future day-to-day tasks and get a better understanding of the position.

As each interview is designed to fit the needs of the position, from this stage onwards, the process might be different for each candidate, depending on the level and the characteristics of the position, as well as the completed task. Sometimes and once we’ve reviewed your case internally, we might inform you on whether your candidacy was successful or not straightaway. On other occasions, we might set up a meeting to discuss it with you or invite you to a fifth and final round. interview stage.

Tip! Use this stage to also get a better understanding of the day-to-day of the position to see if it fits your expectations and aspirations.

5. Final Interview (known as ‘The Final Countdown’)

As explained above, there is a chance that you will skip this step — this depends on the level and the role you’ve applied for. Otherwise, you might need to meet our executives and C-level professionals.

Our aim is to have a well-rounded understanding of your qualities and fit for the role, ensure you have a strong understanding of the role and company, and most importantly answer any final questions, so you can make the best decision, and ideally to join us!

Tip! You’ve made it all the way here, so stay natural and don’t hesitate to ask any questions you might have.

That’s all folks — this is what you can expect from our recruitment process. Remember that there are almost no right or wrong answers. What matters most is to be yourself through all stages. As a people-oriented company, we strongly believe that our talent is our competitive advantage and our aim is to keep building a diverse, international team, in which each individual can contribute with their own unique characteristics, mindset and skills.

And now you’re all set!

You’re ready to look at our current job openings here and become a Dialectican by joining one of our rapidly growing teams in Athens, Montreal, New York and London.
