The insidious spread of ignorance is the true disaster of fascist thought. The constant denial of truth as anything but a political tool is fundamentally destructive. That destruction starts with the daily discourse of the media that becomes unable to identify truth as anything but opinion.
Truth is not easy to find but it is definitely not an opinion. That is the purpose of continuous confusion created by propagandists who attack the weakest belief systems in a society. Link lies to strong opinions without a basis in fact and claim them as truth. Deny objective facts by getting people to announce that they do not believe the fact because it is only an opinion but they believe in another opinion that is now the same as fact.
This works best among the less educated and those who have been denied full science and the tools of the scientific method. Obviously the existence of alternative methods or theories of knowledge can be used as examples although the search for truth is eternal and alternatives are the essence of discovery. The problem are fundamentalist beliefs of any kind and ideologies that demand faith without criticism while claiming facts without either empiricism or logic.
