Today’s podcast profile consists of two women leaders in Calgary. Erin Bird heads Fair Trade Calgary and is trying to make Calgary a fair trade town. Lori Williams has been a political scientist and professor at Mount Royal University for many years. In this discussion, panelists talk about fair trade is all about, and how an initiative like goes through the basic legislative process to get the support of either city council or a school board. Later on, important discussions centered around women representation, what women face when they do they elected, and the age of misinformation and critical thinking. Is our changing world and a struggling news industry causing us to miss out on important issues, and do we have an obligation as citizens to seek the information?
