Two weeks ago Elon Musk released his Master Plan for Tesla, and he showed again why he is one of the most celebrated Entrepreneurs in the World.

You can’t connect the dots looking forward, you can only connect them looking backwards. Elon Musk explained everything, about why they started with a Sports Car for the elite and then jumped into the mainstream car for the masses. He also explained how he wishes to reduce the cost of owning a Tesla in the future. And then there is the Gigafactory.

On the same line,I thought of a master plan for a startup I have been thinking about. (which I talked about in this post)

( I submitted this startup with a detailed business plan and market research. One of the guy was ready to put in an initial sum but then feasibility quickly became an issue since I am still in college.)

So here is my Master plan,Part Deux

1. Start a Car advertising company

We must have already seen advertisements on Cars and Auto about different companies. Can this be channelised into a product? Yes. It can be.

In economics,a car is not considered to be an asset to an individual since it deprecate in value and has added liability. But what if the car can be turned into an asset? What if you could earn a side income while just driving around your car by putting up an ad on it?

This produces value for both the customers and the company. Car advertising is cheaper than billboard, and its reach is more and sometimes geographically varied. The company could choose a region to advertise on cars to run campaigns. On the consumer side, they have a side income.

The problem is advertisers don’t prefer automobile ads since they have no analytics about the reach of the ad. This problem will be solved in the next point.

2. Build a data analytics Company

All the cars that sign up for putting up ads can be fit in with a GPS and tracks their movement. This will help build up data about traffic in the region where the car moves, then use it to build up a systematic relation between traffic, population density and no of impressions made by the ad.

What else can the data be used for? Let’s move on the next point.

3. Sell the data

The data can be made available for public use using an API, which can be further used to make applications to monitor and reduce traffic, and since these cars are connected via GPS systems,we have internet of things which can be used for a variety of applications.

4.Solve the internet problem,Internet of moving things

Read my first post.

Since we can a system of cars connected via GPS(all those cars who signed up for the ad thingy) ,we can upgrade the GPS to be a wifi router and use sophisticated routing algorithms to connect to different hotspots(Oops! I mean cars).

This is what we term as Vehicular ad-hoc Network. Unfortunately, none as of now exist in India.

This is my Master plan.
