Way back in 2013, not too long after this site itself was created, Medium founder Evan Williams put forward a pretty simple but potent notion:

“People create better things together.”

This is a mantra that Dice Addicts Weekly aims to follow as much as it can, and with this in mind we’re very pleased to announce that going forward this publication is calling for open submissions for articles. If we are to encourage and foster the growth of a tabletop RPG community here on Medium, we need to get you, the users, involved from the get-go.

What Sort Of Articles Are We Looking For?

We’re looking for stories focusing on tabletop roleplaying, and what makes this hobby so enjoyable. Nothing more, and nothing less. It could be a guide for running a particular genre or system, a retrospective on a campaign you and your group has just finished, an interesting bit of news relating to the hobby. We don’t want to place limits on what people can and can’t pitch to our publication: if you have a passion for tabletop and want to write an article about it then we’d love to help you get it out there.

How Are Articles Submitted?

If you think you have a story or article that suits Dice Addicts Weekly, you can get in touch with us through various ways. The most obvious is Medium itself: feel free to leave a response to this story telling us you’re interested in writing for us and we can get in touch with you from there. We also have a contact email address at diceaddictsweekly<at>gmail<dot>com, which we promise we’ll try and check as often as possible.

If we think your article fits with Dice Addicts Weekly, we can get you set up as a writer for this publication and get it up and posted as soon as possible. The great thing about Medium is that it allows you to take the credit for the stories you have written and published, regardless of the publication it’s under, so you don’t need to worry that we’re going to try to run off with your content (not that we would do that, honest).

Are There Any Other Criteria/Word Limits?

Not at this time, no. We don’t want to put off potential writers by imposing limitations and red tape on what they can pitch to us, so as long as its about tabletop RPGs and we like it then it’s fine by us. There may come a time when we try and add a little more structure to our submission guidelines and so on, but right now we’re a small, freshly opened publication so we want to encourage as many responses as we can.

So if you’re a fan of RPGs and you think you’ve got something interesting to say about them?

Please get in touch.
