Is the practice of researching and acquiring private or identifiable information about an individual or organization, and sometimes broadcasting it as well.

The methods to retrieve that information include, among others, searching publicly available databases and social media websites, and hacking.

Reasons for doxing are varied, from business analysis to law enforcement, also including including cyberbullying and even extortion.
