Did You Know…Cleopatra Lived Closer in Time to the iPhone Than to The Pyramids???
Your favorite Egyptian icon was as awestruck as you!
Born in 69 B.C., Queen Cleopatra was the last active pharaoh of the ancient Ptolemaic dynasty. Now, the iconic queen represents a significant symbol in art and pop culture.
That was a little over 2000 years before the release of the first iPhone in 2007. Won’t you think, geez that’s so ancient. Nah. The real OG of old are the pyramids of Giza which had been in existence 2400 years even before Cleopatra’s birth…and still standing.
She must have been gobsmacked by their existence as we are now. Maybe even more so. To her, the pyramids are not mere relics representing an ancient past. Their symbolism is woven into the art, history, and culture of her people.
Though shorter in height due to thousands of years of erosion, their impact in the present is massive.
So, if you ever catch yourself wondering about your age and how old you feel, try and walk in the shoes of a pyramid that’s over 5,000 years old. Now that is old!
