From Googol to Google
I have always found the word "Google" very fascinating. When the internet was newly introduced to us , in our childhood, an internet search literally meant "Google".
As kids , we didn’t understand what Web browser was. All we knew was that colorful icon of "Google Chrome" from where we would type www.google.com. The homepage will open and we could search for any information from there, just like magic. It felt almost like Doraemon’s gadget.
However, I don’t think everyone wanted to know what "Google" even means? Is it just an abbreviation of an Organisation’s name?
Well, to your surprise, let me tell you first , " Google " comes from misspelling the word "Googol".
Good enough! So what is "Googol" now?
Well, well , well..... After Trillion I don’t think we can easily remember any name given to , one followed by a bunch of zeroes( exactly 12 zeros).
If I push myself harder, I can that , one followed by 33 zeros is called Decillion in Mathematics.
Interestingly, the naming thing doesn’t just end there. There’s a particular word for , one ( number 1) followed by a 100 zeros i.e. Googol.
Yup, that’s what "Googol" means.
