They possess antioxidant, antiviral, antibacterial and anti inflammatory properties which have potential health benefits providing protection from cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer and other metabolic syndrome. So next time someone tells you to avert from that hot cup of tea, spice it up and enjoy the numerous health benefits it has in store for you.
