Staying motivated can be really hard sometimes especially when there is processed foods everywhere and opportunities to rest rather than going to the gym. A couple ways to stay motivated are pep talks, surround yourself with success, challenging yourself, commit to weekly check-ins, food diary, and rewarding yourself for weekly goals.

Pep talks: Set aside a minute every day to let the positivity flow; write down or say out loud everything that you like about yourself and your life, and use that minute to say why you want to meet your goals.

Surrounding yourself with success: Success stories can be great for lifting you up that motivation when it’s lacking, and reading that someone else had the same problem and pushed through can help you push through the hard times. Also quick pick me ups throughout the day can help you remember the reasons why you are taking control of your fitness and health.

Challenging yourself: If you challenge yourself you feel more accomplished in the end result. It also helps you push yourself to something out of your comfort zone.

Committing to weekly check-ins: Talking to somebody with similar goals of yours can help you stay on track and stay committed.

Keeping a journal: Writing down your goals, struggles, setbacks and successes can be a great way to support yourself and feel accomplished.

Rewarding yourself: If you meet your goal of losing a pound or working out five times, have a day to yourself. Whether it’s a long bath or a day off from exercise with no guilt, have a reward in mind for meeting your weekly goal and stick with it.
