After weeks of beta testing, Apple finally released iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5 on April 26, 2021. The new update brings in new features like facial unlocking iPhone through the Apple Watch while wearing a mask, App tracking transparency, supporting PS5 and X-box series, and much more.

Apple finally released iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5 to the public, which is the biggest update to iOS 14 since its initial release last year. The latest update brings in improvements and exciting new features, such as the facial unlocking with a mask through the Apple Watch or the new notices of App Tracking Transparency, the system through which Apple wants to control the tracking made by the applications on users.

The most crucial update in iOS 14.5 is an anti-tracking system that reinforces user confidentiality. In fact, it is quite practical: as soon as an application wants to use your personal data, your iPhone will notify you through a pop-up window. You can then decide whether or not to allow the application to use your data. However, the feature is highly criticized by many applications that base their business model on the exploitation of user data.
