Monitoring pH into high corrosive chemical solution
A new method for measuring the pH of a chemical solution has been tested.
What did our team find?
On a production line of Gaser — Caravaggio there was the need to monitor the parameters of the chemical solutions used for the coating process.
What was the trigger for this analysis?
Among several parameters the pH is one of those that is difficult to measure continuously because the instruments is immersed in chemical corrosive solutions and get damaged in a short time.
“By installing a new type of instrument, this problem has been solved. The peculiar feature is that this new instrument acquires the sample to be analyzed only when needed and does not remain continuously immersed in the corrosive solution. This operation can be carried out at constant frequency keeping the solution controlled but not determining the deterioration problems of the instrument.
Moreover, iDO digital operator has been able to analyze and present the collected data to the customer, detecting only the interesting ones. In this way it was possible to have a general view of the pH trend of the chemical solution and the effectiveness of the new instrument.
What was the value to the customer?
Duly teaching iDO industrial digital operator to analyze the data collected as above, detecting the values only when they have changed, i.e. by detecting each sample, it has been possible to represent pH in full on the following graph.
