Ten months ago, I joined the British Red Cross to support a fantastic, talented Digital team already working to turn a large, fragmented digital estate of websites and apps into a coherent offer for the organisation.

Since then, we’ve been working together to develop our mission: providing digital products, services and expertise to help the organisation deliver the best online experiences for people who need us.

We’re currently organised around 3 keys priorities to do this:

  • Developing a new web platform that will serve as the foundation of the British Red Cross’s digital estate.
  • Supporting other teams by sharing our expertise, and understanding where we can add the most value.
  • Defining, developing, and sharing our service offer — including self-service options — to better support our colleagues.

For a while, we’ve known we needed to grow to make sure we’ve got more people with the right expertise in place and working together to deliver on this ambition.

We’re finally at a point to start looking for those people to come and join us. Most of these roles will work on developing our new Web Platform, to create a high-quality web platform-as-a-service. We want to support other teams to focus on content, audiences and purpose without worrying about building, maintaining and supporting a website — you can read more in Platform Manager Kieran McGuire’s Medium post.

We’re currently looking for:

I’ll update this post regularly as jobs go live and share recruitment opportunities on LinkedIn. Feel free to get in touch directly if you want to talk about any of these opportunities or the work we’re doing.
