I came to Warsaw from Estonia to work with Outriders on their project about migrants. The current situation in country is that the Polish governement refuse to accept refugees under a 2015 solidarity plan.

In Warsaw I met really interesting people who truly insipred me. Marcin Suder — photo reporter who spent last two decades reporting from conflict zones and wars. From him I learned that the only things which can help you at war are your kind heart and sence of humour.

The next person who teached me something good was Magdalena Chodownika who is absolutely amazing and knows everything!

Also I met Beata Biel — investigative journalist and former Google News lab. I asked her to share with us some searching data tips.

Some notes about Poland. Prices are good, people are nice but a little bit crazy. Warsaw is beautiful, clear and full of people.

And some photos from the Kruszyniany village which is really close to the border with Belarus. It has a population of 160. In the past, it was primarily a Lipka Tatar settlement. Now Tatars still remain as the only minority in the village. There are a wooden mosque from the 18th century (one of the two oldest in Poland).

My advise — try Tatars food (kolduny tatarskie or cheburek) it is tasty and you will love it, I promise.

The fellowship is organized and funded by Digital Communication Network 🙈
