These tweets reflect a personal understanding of the class texts because they were tweeted after a thorough reading and research. Some of these were from personal instances of reading about these on social media, and then googling them to know a bit more. It was also easy to understand what topic was being discussed (whether it was mentioned in the tweet or even from simply reading it). Two of them have my personal mark on them (photos, and comic remixed by me), and these are direct products of what I have learned in the course. Some of these are things I have come across (streetview travelling) while going through SNSs. Whereas others are a result of a eureka moment while going through a new feature on Snapchat.

Some of my worst tweets are a result of a lack of effort on my part to explore different options. Rushed thinking, wrongfully categorizing certain digital trends and lack of elaboration have left the above tweets without sufficient information to stand on. They are vague, short and do not really engage with what we have learned in class.

What I could have done better is tweet a few more weeks and actually engage with the twitter challenges set about readings done in class. Perhaps I would have had more options to write about my best tweets. I could have also expanded on certain tweets, used images, to expand the insight on certain tweets.

In order to see engagement, I should have expanded my following on twitter. I do not have any friends on twitter, and my classmates did not engage much with each other. I believe the Twitter challenge could have been designed that we did not have to write tweets every week. It would have been assigned to certain people each week on a rotation basis, and the others would have commented on their tweets. Not only would we have collectively formed a community, we could have written this reflection about what we learned as a group, a group engaging in Digital Culture.

More effective use of twitter in class: asking us to start off our weekly twitter challenge by tweeting a photo of our notes. That would have helped us keep what we learned in class at the forefront of our mind and hopefully post better tweets. A photo of your board writings and perhaps allocating the last five minutes of class on coming up with a game plan to deal with the daily postings on twitter could have kept all of us on posting weekly and not missing out certain weeks.

Critera My points:

I tweeted enough to cover the criteria assignment. 2.5

I was effective in presenting my own understandings of the course materials 3

My tweeting shows a progression of my own understanding of digital culture. 3

Total: 8.5/10
