Facebook Inc and its founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg have been in the news for many reasons (most privacy-related) the past few years but the most noise was during the Cambridge Analytica scandal.
Without getting into much detail, a data company called Cambridge Analytica harvested copious amounts of user data from a bunch of apps they designed to create profiles of people which were then sold to political campaigns such as Trump2016 and Brexit. The said campaigns then created content that targetted these profiles and swayed favour in their direction or dissent in the direction of the opposition.
