When it comes to modern political campaigns, it’s a truism that the smaller the race the larger the potential impact of a well targeted and professional digital strategy.

For candidates seeking down-ballot offices—like state legislature, county council, etc.—even just a little bit of targeted advertising can go a long way. But too often, those down-ballot candidates cannot afford the sort of professional campaign help they need to realize digital’s potential.

At Hines Digital, we’re working hard to change that.

Starting today, down-ballot campaigns can partner with Hines Digital to get professional, full-service digital strategy for just $500 per month.

We’re offering down-ballot candidates the same level of industry-leading digital strategy that we provide to candidates for Governor, U.S. House of Representatives, U.S. Senate, and President. And with us on the job, you can focus your attention where it matters: knocking on doors, making phone calls, and raising the money you need to win.

Service details

For an affordable monthly rate, Hines Digital will provide the following services.

  • A simple, mobile-friendly website
  • Expert, full-service digital ad targeting and creative
  • Email marketing & online fundraising

Awesome, right? But what does it look like in practice? Let’s break it down.

A basic (and beautiful) website presence

One of the biggest myths in politics—and biggest money-pits for down-ballot candidates—is that you can’t win without a full-blown website. That’s false.

An example microsite. (Link)

The truth is that most down-ballot candidates do not need a fully-featured website. They need a website, but mostly just to capture emails and donations.

In 2018, the bulk of your campaign’s activity will happen on Facebook. Attempting a robust website will either (a) appear poorly built, undercutting your credibility or (b) erode your hard-earned fundraising dollars unnecessarily.

That’s why Hines Digital will offer our down-ballot clients a simple, one-page microsite for free. It’ll include:

  • beautiful, mobile-friendly design;
  • a photo-centric layout designed to increase conversion (sign-up) rates;
  • quick-action donation buttons;
  • an email sign up form;
  • required legal disclaimers; and
  • campaign-specific color schemes.

But the best feature is the price: free. As in $0.

Full-service digital advertising

As a candidate, you know that you ought to be placing smartly targeted ads on Facebook, Google, etc.—but you have no idea how it works (and that’s totally normal).

There’s good news: we’re experts at this, and we’re here to help.

We’ll help you put together the best digital advertising strategy for your district and your budget. We’ll produce the ads, monitor the results on a weekly basis, and adjust as necessary to get you the best impact for your money. All you have to do is approve the ads, sit back, and watch the results.

Email marketing & online fundraising

As your campaign’s email list grows, we’ll help you engage your supporters and raise money online.

We’ll apply the best practices, strategies, and tactics we leverage for statewide and national candidates to your race in a right-sized way. You’ll get a high-class email program on a low-dollar budget.

An example fundraising email.

Specifically, if your email list is:

  • less than 1,000 people, we’ll send a max of one email per week; or
  • between 1,000–5,000 people, we’ll send a max of two emails per week;
  • greater than 5,000 people, we’ll want to have a conversation about investing in a more robust and long-term strategy.
