Finding a new path

My whole life I’ve loved traveling to unique places. Visiting somewhere off the beaten path was fascinating. When looking through possible European destinations for a summer trip, Moldova immediately popped out.

Moldova is one of the least visited places in the world. It is a peaceful country between Ukraine and Romania. Getting to Moldova is relatively easy with no shortage of flights from cities like Istanbul, Warsaw, and Vienna.

A big positive of visiting Moldova is the economic factor. Moldova is one of the cheapest places in Europe to visit. A two-day trip could be less than $100 in total. Meals were also inexpensive, with a quality meal available for $3 or less.

This vacation was a quick two-day visit to Moldova. It is a small country which can be explored quickly.

The trip starts in the Moldovan capital of Chișinău. The city is home to a number of wonderful museums. The first museum to check out is the National History Museum. Here you can learn about what Moldova is all about and how they got to where they are. The next museum to visit is The National Museum of Ethnography, which truly specializes in the Moldovan culture. Moldova is a small country with a rich history.

Food is a substantial part of any trip. A popular Moldovan dish is stuffed cabbage rolls. Other foods that are common to find include chicken noodle soup and beef salad. Affordable and delicious food is part of what makes Moldova such an amazing vacation.

On the second day, it is a good idea to visit up north. The Soroca Fortress is located within driving distance of Chișinău. This historic fortress is hundreds of years old and was crucial to defending Moldova throughout history.

Moldova is one of the most unique vacations someone can take. There is nowhere else in the world like it. Especially when you consider the ability to do a European trip on a low budget, Moldova is a wonderful choice.
