A Neighbourhood Walk To Soothe Our Souls

As usual, nature cures all.

We are currently staying at a place that is on the outskirts of Fort Portal, Uganda. Fort Portal has a population of just about 60 000 people, but it still is very busy. We are happy that our accommodation is located in a more rural setting as it is quite quiet out here and we are surrounded by fields and nature.

Yesterday we had to go into town to get some money from the ATM. Because of the last few days of annoyances, we have been hibernating a bit and haven’t felt like talking to anybody. But we needed to pay our food bill at the hotel, so we grinned and bared it and walked out onto the road.

We got our money, then noticed a nice-looking restaurant that we hadn’t seen before, so we ducked in for some lunch. We then made our way back to our accommodation, but instead of turning into the gate, we decided to keep walking up the dirt road past it. We hadn’t been out that way yet, and we knew that it would be heading into more…
