An Early October Neighborhood Walk
Admiring the Changing Colors, Falling Leaves, Flowers, and Pumpkins
Autumn is a special time in Southern Ontario. There is something in the air and a renewal of the spirit, especially in the first month of Fall. We have warm weather for at least half of the season, including those early October days that can have the perfect temperature and atmosphere. The leaves are well underway in their vibrant color transformation, and while there are many areas with peak views throughout the surrounding area — I am grateful that I can see some of this beauty within walking distance of home. Yesterday was the perfect day for a slow pace, leisurely walk in the area.
On the walking trail, it was nice to see a variety of nature’s beauty, including the marigold-colored wildflowers in the small marsh. It felt like summer was still hanging on, with the bonus of the in-between-season look of various trees, some red and orange, and some with bright yellow leaves still fully enveloping their branches. I noticed that things looked a little dry, as we certainly have not had an abundance of rain.
