Swish! I pulled the blankets off and got off the bed. I hadn’t slept the whole night and the city was about to wake up.

My eyes were puffy but the restlessness didn’t quit. So at 6 in the morning, I sneaked out of the house with my winter jacket.

The sky lit dimly and the street lamps of south Bangalore flickered about as I walked by the pavements empty yet sprinkled with cracks, leaves, and cigarette ashes.

The smell of morning chai stalls lingered in the winter air.

A few old Indian uncles with typical white shirts and golden frame spectacles stood sipping chai in the distance. I chuckled.

I had a few more days left in Bangalore before my flight to Matsuyama, Japan. I’d had my best college days here and it was coming to an end.

Things seemed to move really fast and it was hard to digest it.

Bangalore Through My Eyes

To those unaware, I’m not from Bangalore. I was only here for my 4-year degree. Yet I dare say I have seen Bangalore the way most people can only imagine.

Lavish rooftop bars hidden away behind dark doors. Artists trying to sell their strange creativity…
