My sister, my husband, and I decided to visit Bangkok, Thailand’s Chatuchak Market, on a recent Friday in November 2023.

This vibrant marketplace was highly recommended by my sister. She is an American expat and has been living in Thailand with her family for the past couple of years.

I typically don’t find shopping attractive, unless it involves window shopping. However, this vast and vibrant market managed to captivate even someone like me.

Chatuchak Market, known as the “JJ market” among locals, stands as Thailand’s largest outdoor market. It has earned the title of the world’s biggest weekend market. However, since April 2021, it has transitioned to being open every day.

The market is quite large, with more than 15,000 vendors arranged over about 27 sectors.
