Hanging on a disintegrated hill above a great valley, ruled by wind and erosion, we find a determined little town. The section of earth that once connected Civita to its bigger and more populated twin sister Bagnoregio has worn away, leaving Civita isolated.

It is a cliff town resembling a half-eaten apple whose only accessible entrance is through a reinforced pedestrian bridge, for this ancient village is crumbling, bit by bit into the vast valley below.

Up until only a decade ago, no one had even heard about this unfortunate town, with its only remaining 11 residents the city was almost abandoned as it somehow, along the way, froze in time.

Majestically, on the top of a hill, stands a magic little town. But it is not only its charm and beauty that made it gain fame, for the circumstances that doomed the little town from the very beginning are the true grounds of its reputation. Civita di Bagnoregio is located in Tuscia, Italy.
