Our Last Day in Portugal: A Quick Trip to Mafra
We have been in Portugal for over a week, and it felt amazing. We wanted to do one more quick trip before our departure. The weather was windy and cloudy. Also, it was our last day in Portugal, and we had to pack our stuff for the long trip back home. It took us about 8–10 minutes by car to get from Ericeira, our base, to Mafra.
Mafra is situated on the west coast of Portugal, as you can see in the above map snippet. It is a town of historical significance and natural beauty. With a population of 76,685 residing in an expansive area of 291.66 km2 as of 2011, Mafra is part of the vibrant urban agglomeration…
