I was in Sydney this year for New Years Eve which of course…was spectacular.

But I want to tell you about a New Years Eve that stands out to me as being truly unique and unforgettable. It was something I had never encountered before.

It left such a lasting impression that I made a pact with my wife to go back and do it again one year.

Central Bangkok — Christmas time BC (Before Covid)

It’s the jolly season and I’m living in Bangkok with my wife and my parents decide to fly out from Australia to visit.

The Thai’s have no idea what Christmas all means but they celebrate it anyway. Lot’s of twinkling lights and Christmas jingles everywhere.

After traveling around Thailand doing the tourist thing for my parents we are back in Bangkok for New Years Eve. Even though it’s technically not New Years Eve according to Thai calendar they still celebrate like it’s 1999.

They love to put on a big show in Bangkok. So we head into the great metropolis to see the new year in.
