It's hard not to fall in love with Antalya, the coastal town on the Mediterranean coast in Southwest Turkey.

Antalya retains its old-world charm, especially if you walk the Kaleici (old city) area.

The areas outside the old city are a little to write about, a concrete jungle filled with new-age malls, hotels, apartments, and residential houses.

We started our tour of the old city with our tour guide, Hussein, an old, jolly, portly chap running late that morning.

Apologizing profusely for his tardiness, he assembled our motley gang, comprising our extended family of six and a solitary tourist girl from South Korea.

We started the tour of the old city from Hadrian's gate a little later than the scheduled time and started traversing the narrow bylanes of the old town.

When we visited last June 2023, it was during the festival of Bayram, and the town was still waking up after late-night…
